My experience with Cahoot has been great. I went for them becuase at the time they paid a higher rate fo interest than trad banks. It is so convenient to make payments & transfers when you want on-line. I do however use a traditional bank though for getting cash out. So I guess I am bakcing both horses. Bit of a cop-out perhaps.

First Direct is easy to use and effective on the phone if required - just a few security questions to answer. Also part of HSBC so a big branch network. Can't complain and I have been with them for years without problem.

I have used FirstDirect for all my banking for many years, which is a division of HSBC. The only things you MIGHT ever want a branch for are the things which are exceedingly infrequent, such as needing a bank draft as part of a house purchase, but if you contact them in advance they can advise you on the alternatives: you shouldn't ever need to go to a branch really. The advantage of FirstDirect is that they are a telephone bank as well as an internet bank, so if you can't figure out how to do it online you can call them.

Banks like Natwest/Lloyds/Barclays........You get a membership number/ pin (only sent to your house) and passcode that you choose so as long as you keep that info safe you should be fine. I've had no problems, if you worried there is always phone banking.
