Who do I contact legally about my 401K problems?

401k problems
vikkmathis asked:

I was recently fired from my job and wish to transfer my 401K over to the company I’m now working for. The rep. I spoke with said I would not be able to do this because the company I use to work for still have me listed as active. I was told that until they remove me from their payroll I couldn’t do anything with my 401. The thing is I’ve been away from this company for nearly a month now and they still haven’t removed me from their payroll. Who do I need to call to make them get off their A$$ and do their job?

I think you need to write a real professional letter and send it to your job requesting in writing that you names need to be taken off of payroll. Darin T

If it has only been a month, that is not very long.

Call your former company and ask them about it. Rick B

This is just an administrative problem between the former employer and it’s 401(k) custodian. Contact the H.R. function at the employer. William
