What will the bank do with a credited and now canceled cheque?
No Name Brand asked:
So, I received a cheque for a sum of $800. I banked it yesterday afternoon. When I got home I found a email from the cheque writer saying there was a printing error, all the cheques had been canceled and will be re-issued in 72 hours.

Today I checked my bank account and the cheque has been cleared and credited?
What do you think will happen?

Within a period of time, the bank will probably receive the cancellation and deduct the $800 from your account balance.. Just because it looks like it cleared, doesn’t always mean it totally did.. So be prepared to cover the check you deposited.. I had this happen to me.. justgettinby
