What is a recent development in the investment banking industry?
tommy752701 asked:
This is a question on a job application I am completing. I need to describe a recent development and how it would affect an investment banking department 1st hand in their day to day work.
Any ideas would be much appreciated!
Thanks

Investment banking model is not going anywhere. If you look at their core business model, it will remain. Industry still has to and continue to do business. However, their existence as independent units is in for change (and it is changing). They will continue to operate within the banking industry as a part of bigger/wider corporation. Rather than remain independent, take more risk, more leverage, they will evolve to be more rationale within acceptable risk management. Just give it may be 4 or 5 years these units will become pervasive again. give it time to evolve.
