Squirrlee-1 asked:

I was charged with an over draft. I had plenty of money in the account. I DO NOT have a debit card. Seems someone used a debit card on my account and drained the account. The bank says tuff S*&%. Its my problem. Well I didnt do it. The bank never looses money. I was there 4 hours trying to get this straightened out. Is this legal for them to do this. What are my options, if I have any, and it doesnt look good. What would you do?
Thanks….

I have a lot of cash with me right now, and I usually don’t like to carry a lot. The problem is, my bank that I have me debit card with is located five hours away. Is there any solution? Aren’t there debit cards you can buy at Wal Mart that work like any other debit card - and you can buy online with them?

Banks are going to scramble in figuring out how to make profits since they made almost 40 billion last year in overdraft fees.

If people now can go to the ATM or use a debit card and it will be declined - banks are going to lose serious profits.
Imagine a bank not making $36 bucks each time you overdraw for 2 bucks.

Will banks start charging for checking accounts?
How will they make up those fees?
Banks are not just going to sit there and take this - I know banks.

checking account
Elestra asked:

Obviously you can write checks using a checking account, but other than that, why would you use a checking account over a savings account? And can you use a debit card with a saving account, or is that also only checking?

How many credit cards should you have to rebuild credit?

credit cards
Nikita asked:

I am trying to rebuild my credit after ID theft, a couple of problems that were mine and years of basically not having any credit reported. (I primarily use my debit card and pay cash for everything). I make good money now and am trying to rebuild in order to purchase a condo in the next couple of years. My good accounts (rental, club, cable, cell, etc.) have not reported my good credit. So how many cards should I take out that will help boost my credit score but not hinder my credit. Thank you!
