My aunt and uncle both have separate checking accounts. They’re both successful in their own right. My uncle is a lawyer and my aunt is an accountant. I wonder how this works like which checking account are the bills paid from and stuff? It just seems wierd to me

aclchan asked: Hello,
Does anyone know how often a bank checks accounts that people have with them for mistakes?
I have a checking account that has a mistake and it’s been 2 months and they have not fixed it.
Thanks for your help.
The mistake resulted in my account having $200 more than what is should be, so I expect the bank to catch this but it’s been 2 months and the $200 is still in my account.

I have been consistently recieving offers from my bank to open new checking accounts which will have 100 dollars transfered into them upon opening them. They send one about every month. I’ve opened 2 so far for the cash and closed them, and I was curious, if I keep this up is there anything that can go wrong?

Mountain Man asked: It has been 7 years since I had a checking account, and when I was in college I had 3 or 4 accounts closed, due to insuffecient funds and bouncing checks.
I have taken classes on checking accounts and am ready to have an account again, so I can build credit with a bank and buy a home one day.
Does anyone know what banks check when you go to open an account and how long any poor information is kept in the systems they look at.
Thanks!

Just curious. It would help me budget better if I could have two different checking accounts. I have a savings, but I can’t access the funds like a checking account. Thanks for your help.

I know that on a Equifax credit report you dont see your saving/checking accounts. However, when you fill out your information about assets and liabilities when asking a loan, they ask for how much money in your checking accounts for example from other banks if you have. Can they find out that information?

Pepper asked:
I am currently a college student with 2 checking accounts (Wamu- 3 years & BOA- 1 year) and 1 credit card (Citi- 1 year). I have always met the requirements for my checking accounts and paid all my credit card bills on time. As for loans, I do have about $10,000 of student loans in debt. I was wondering if it is okay for me to get another credit card. Also, many say that having a lot of credit cards are bad for you. What is the reccomendation of how many bank accounts and credit cards should I have so that my credits would not go down? Thanks in advance!
