divalicious asked: I am planning to go to Amsterdam and applying for a shengen visa. My friend told me that I should present a savings account instead of a checking account but my money is on my checking acct. So is it possible for me to submit my checking acct statements instead?

pink_carebear_girl asked: I bank through 2 banks and I closed the 1 not too long ago and both my checking account checks are identicle. I used a check from my closed account by accident for $79 the other day and realized it was the wrong checking account book. (My old checking account was for one’s that are in the checking account and offered a second chance for a small fee a month.) What will happen?

Brandon Roberts asked: This is my first time opening a checking account. My question is what would happen if my account were to have been overdrawn and remained so for many months, and finally the bank decided to close the account because it was inactive? Does the bank still try and send for their money or does the charges just go away? Will it effect me opening another account with a different financial institution?

Elestra asked: Obviously you can write checks using a checking account, but other than that, why would you use a checking account over a savings account? And can you use a debit card with a saving account, or is that also only checking?

Noblesville.org asked: I have heared a commercial for a bank that has a checking account, that when you purchase something with your debit card it will round all of your purchases up to the nearest dollar and automaticly deposit the difference into a savings account.
Example:
I buy a pack of gum for $1.25
It rounds that up to $2.00
And deposits $0.75
into a savings account

Martha B asked: I have a mortgage with a bank. The renters left and I have no way of covering the mortgage until I get new renters. The bank took the mortgage out of my checking account. If I close this checking account and open another one at a different bank can they access my new checking account to get their funds.

barisw asked: In other words, are there hidden fees that I am NOT seeing on my list of transactions when I’m looking at my checking account activity? For instance, if they charged me $2.00 for every online check I wrote and got sent to an address using online banking, am I being charged under the table?
