Dilbert asked: I want to open a savings account for about $700 and charge the opening deposit to a credit card. The credit card gets points, which would be good for a gift card if I had about 700 more. I want to close the credit card account, but only after I get enough points, to not waste the points I already have. I’m going to open a savings account anyway, so I figure I might as well get those 700 points from it. In any case, the savings account should pay high interest and should allow transactions between banks online.
For example, Bank of America will let you open a checking account online, and use a credit card to fund it. The credit card transaction will be a purchase, not a cash advance. But I want to know what other banks will do that, and which of them will do it for savings accounts.

Matthew asked: I don’t want to hear from the scare mongers. We are a young family who have had income fluctuations of no fault of our own. Our mortgage is $1400 per month. Daycare costs, etc, are driving us to the brink.
Will banks really work with you? What can we do? What should I expect if I am unable to pay my mortgage?

Tara G asked: My boyfriend and I are planning on buying a house. He’s working and I just recently became unemployed, and I receive unemployment benefits. So we were wondering if banks would consider that as income?

v V asked: What do banks have to do in order to print money? In what circumstances do banks print money? Are there any times when banks absorb back money instead of printing more?

Dennis4QPR asked: Hi,
It’s a follow up to the question i posted a few days ago, I am having real trouble getting past the automated call centre operators (who can’t help, but won’t accept it!) to speak to somebody about my expired cheque, I was hoping if somebody works or did work for a bank if they would have any useful tips? I would be so grateful.
Thanks
