Okay so I have had my checking account for three yeras and never needed to make a withdrawl from any source other than an ATM until now. I was wondering how you write out the check to yourself to make a withdrawl from it. Heh, rather simple question I know but thanks for the help in advance.

Just make it out for cash….in the ‘to” line…write cash…..then enter the amount just as you would for any check…sign and present it to the teller. Lisa M

On a blank check from your account, on the line ” pay to the order to” write CASH. Fill in the amount in the space at the end of that line. Then write out the amount. Sign the lower right section. Then, endorse the back of the check( Your signature). Because of having ATM access, most people no longer use this method. I hope this helps. . Ruth

You can go to a local supermarket with whom you have check cashing abilities with along with a store card and write the check out to the store in the desired amount. No charge. Ella

You are correct; it is simple. There are two ways to do it. First make a check payable to yourself and simply endorse it on the back with your check number under your signature and the bank will cash it, provided you have the funds available. The second method is to simply write it payable to cash, and endorse it on the back, with your check number under the endorsement and they will cash it that way also. You could just go in the bank and do a withdrawal slip from the account for the amount you need, and you would not even need a check. H. A
