How do I fix the lean bank problem (codes 171 and 174) on my 2002 Chrysler Sebring?

bank problem
rphello101 asked:

The check engine light came on in my 2002 Sebring so I ran a diagnostic trouble code check and it came back with the error codes 171 and 174, which are lean banks 1 and 2. How do I clear the codes?

  1. C-Tech Says:

There is probably a vacuum leak in the engine. That’s why the engine is running lean. Check the vacuum lines for cracks, or the intake manifold for leaks. C-Tech

There could be lots of things wrong, something as simple as a dirty airflow meter can give a lean code. you need to do more investigating . but yes check for a vac. leak. Kevi
