StillWaiting asked: My husband and I used Liberty Tax Service and had the fees deducted from our refund. However, the banking information on our return is our banking info. Does anyone REALLY know how our payment will come? Our originaly refund was DD but everyone on here is saying they’re getting theirs by paper check and some are saying they had fees deducted from their refund but still had their rebate DD. Has anyone personally used Liberty Tax Service, had their fees deducted, but received their rebate by DD?

I am the beneficiary of my father’s mutual fund or IRA. When the money is distributed to me, does the IRS see that as income or as inheritance? How it is taxed?

I am just starting out in my career (26 years old). My company does not offer any retirement or 401k plans. I just did my taxes and realized I can get an extra $925 back on my refund if I contribute $3500 to a traditional IRA. I have decided I can afford to and should make this size contribution for last year to some sort of IRA. Should I contribute to the ROTH IRA and get the tax benefit when I retire or the traditional IRA and get the benefit now?

I opened a money markey IRA, and was going to converit it to a Roth IRA (im 23) and have rolled my $3,500 from my 401K into my new IRA. When will I have to pay taxes on my $3,500 and when will I pay taxes on my new contributions? Im not sure if I should keep the money market, or change to the Roth. Thanks!
