Do you have to have a bank account with Wells Fargo to get their secured credit card?

I have Bank of America and have had them for 4 years, no problems. Love the bank. But they have a high annual fee for a secured credit card, so I don’t want to go through them.

Wells Fargo is cheap. I know I can’t do it online or over the phone, but if I went in person, would they give me one without having a bank account with them?

Thanks!

Do the bank hold on to our personal details (if they do then how long they hold on for?) or do they delete our personal details from their systems straight away when we close our bank account?

My wife lost her job and I had cutbacks at mine. I’ve done everything I can and everything the bank has asked but to no help. We have 2 vehicles that are both financed and no real assets to speak of. Does anyone know what the bank will do when I start missing my mortgage payment? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Suppose someone manages by digital or other means to trick my bank into paying out money which it incorrectly thinks that I have authorised. Isn’t this the bank’s problem in the end ? Surely the bank can not expect me to pay for breaches of its own security.

Isn’t this double dipping? The bank doing the hold gets interest on deposited funds. They collect interest on my funds while I cannot use my funds because of their continuing hold of 5 business days. Report them to the Federal Reserve Bank and let’s stop them.

I have a FICO score of 725 so I’m thinking if I find the right bank I could still get a home loan even in this economy, but which banks should I apply at first? I live in Northern California and want a fixed rate loan.
