My sister became a bank teller at age 17. I am 16 (2 months short of 17) and was wondering if most common banks hire at 16, or is it just a waste of my time calling each bank? I don’t want to feel stupid if they say “Sorry hun you need to be older.” And I’m talking about branches such as PNC, COMMERCE, and VALLEY NATIONAL. So if anyone has some insight, let me know!

I live in Griffin, GA and can’t decide on who to bank with. I’ve heard good things about both United Bank and First National Bank (please don’t suggest any others.) But i can’t quite decide on who to go with in terms of opening up a checking account. If I could get someone who’s experienced service from both to give a short list of services where one bank excels and the other lacks, or anything of the sort, it would be most certainly appreciated! Thanks!

How does the bank get cash from another bank when a check is deposited? Does the bank mail the check to the bank it was written from and request cash or is it like a credit with that bank?

Unemployment levels are rising in the UK and the banking system is facing major difficulties. Do you know what this will mean for lawyers who specialise in employment or banking law? Will their workload increase? What kind of challenges will they face? Also, if you know how this will affect US lawyers I would also like to hear from you.

I am planning on going to graduate school and get my mba. I have been building and developing appartment buildings. I am thinking about changing careers and possibly going into investment banking. Is it diffiuclt to switch if you have no financial analyst expierence or previous Investment Banking analstst background. IB has alyways sounded interesting to me. But I know how difficult it is to get into. It is like a old boys club and extremely difficult now thesedays to transition into if you have no expierence or interships in from college.

BusinessBeaver asked:

Trying to decide which major I want, I think I want to go into finance, but I am not sure. I know I am going into business- at a business school.

Also, if there are any people who have careers in finance, what do you specifically and do you like your jobs? Because I have an internship in finance and accounting and it is pretty boring…but it is just because they don’t give me enough work to do so I don’t feel like I have had the true experience.

I don’t get why I can’t do banking transactions that actually post, on the weekend and especially on any holiday that they can come up with. Why do Computers need days off?
I took money from 1 account and moved it into a checking account for today’s activities, Now it’s out of 1 account and not yet posted to the other and won’t be until 6am, well no person will be at Wachovia a 6am either, so why can’t it just post now? lol, I hate writing checks.
