anything8357 asked: My sister became a bank teller at age 17. I am 16 (2 months short of 17) and was wondering if most common banks hire at 16, or is it just a waste of my time calling each bank? I don’t want to feel stupid if they say “Sorry hun you need to be older.” And I’m talking about branches such as PNC, COMMERCE, and VALLEY NATIONAL. So if anyone has some insight, let me know!

Carefree asked: If the UK government did nationalize several British banks, what would happen to the shareholders?
If shares are not suspended, are they likely to increase or decrease?
I’m thinking they would increase….

loutx2 asked: With all the banking problems I want to make sure which bank has the highest rating and it not making sub-prime loans. I know Bank of America made $2 billion dollars worth of bad loans. E - Trade and Countrywide, Citi Corp, and other banks have made billions of follars worth bad sub-prime home loans. Which major bank is not making sub-prime loans and is in good financial shape? That is who I want to bank with.

boilerette72 asked: I hear that if a bank goes under other banks will buy these mortgages. But with so many mortgages exceeding values of homes, many banks might not want to buy the mortgages. What would happen if a bank goes under, and no one wants to buy their crappy mortgages?

curious asked: A Japanese friend of mine had his account frozen in Japan, because he was under investigation for fraud. He was clearly innocent and the judge cleared his case and he wasn’t charged. The bank refused to unfreeze his account, and his lawyer was planning to sue them. The lawyer hired a private investigater and they found that no money was left in the account. It has been 10 months now that all this bank and police mess has been going on. As this is a Japanese system and a Japanese citizen, I just don’t understand how the bank could withhold his account 5 months after the Judge cleared his case.

Salvime asked: I have a few years of retail banking and banking call center experience. About two years I went through a hardship which really damaged my credit. I know if I apply to a bank that does a credit check I won’t get hired. Does anyone know of a specific bank in Los Angeles that won’t run credit?
